Links Swimming Club Inc was
established in 2004 after recognising the need for a more
professional club in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne, in
particular Moreland. Prior to that coaches and swimmers were having
to travel to facilities outside Moreland to train.
The club has gone from strength to
strength and has made many achievements along the way. Initially
training was held at several different centres, now we are proud to
announce all our sessions bar one session a week are held at Coburg
Leisure Centre making this our primary home pool. This would not have been possible
without the co-operation and assistance of Belgravia Management and
Moreland Council.
We also train weekly at Olympic
Leisure Centre in West Heidelberg it is a quiet venue an indoor 25m
3 lane pool. This pool is hired through Banyule Council.
After years of industry experience
our coaches strongly believe in the concept that 'Excellence is hard
work - Fun is hard work made easy'. Swimmers need to enjoy what they
are doing to achieve and succeed.
We apply a philosophy that does
emphasise hard work and discipline which can be carried over to
their lives outside swimming and well into their adult years. Giving
every swimmers the opportunities and means to reach their full
potential.
- Training is disciplined and well
structured
- Having fun to give a good social
and competitive balance
- Seniors are encouraged to mentor
junior swimmers
- Swimmers are treated as
individuals within a team
- Competition is a part of the
swimmers ongoing development
- Swimmers compete at Club, State
and National levels

Swimming is a skill for life so no
matter what level a swimmer sets their sights on they are on the
right track to leading a happy healthy lifestyle. Some swimmers may
wish to reach the highest levels of swimming at a State and National
level others may choose to become lifeguards, swim teachers even go
on to teaching sport and recreation.
There are many options for swimmers
whatever their swimming goals may be.
